18th-19th of October 2018 the rector of ADAM University Simrbard S. R. takes part in the First
session of the Committee of the regional Asia-Pacific Convention on the recognition of qualifications in
higher education, which is held in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The representatives of States parties to the Tokyo Convention and the 1983 Bangkok Convention, as well
as representatives of countries in the Asia-Pacific Region are participated in session.
The objectives of the discussion are to discuss the practices of the countries participating in the Tokyo
Convention, as well as the countries of the Asia-Pacific region to implement the provisions of Global and
regional conventions on the recognition of qualifications in higher education, including:
- increase transparency, comparability and recognition of qualifications;
- development and approval of comparable criteria and adequate procedures for the full and partial
recognition of qualifications;
- organizational approaches to recognition of qualifications, allocation of responsibilities;
- recognition of refugee qualifications;
- establishment of a network of national information centres (NIC) that will support the exchange of
information related to academic recognition and mobility.
An important outcome of the session is the identification of ways of further cooperation on the
recognition of qualifications in the Asia-Pacific region.
