From 1st to 10th September 2016 head of Department of Humanitarian disciplines ADAM University (Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics), chairman of Ecological Movement “BIOM”, candidate of philosophical sciences Korotenko V. A. participates at the World Congress of the International Union for Conservation of nature biodiversity, held in Honolulu (Hawaii). Congress is the biggest event on the protection of the environment and nature in the World. In the World Congress takes part more than 8300 delegates from 184 countries, including heads of State, Public Movement, NGOs, indigenous peoples, business and international organizations. The Congress is held under the slogan “Planet at the crossroads”, stressing that the preservation of nature and human progress and find a reliable, affordable options for the development of human civilization and save the Planet’s ability to support life on Earth. The main issues discussed at the Congress, include wild life trade, ocean ecosystem preservation, development of methods and tools to make decision based on the interests of nature, climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as private investment in the conservation of biodiversity. At the Congress of 1300 IUCN member organizations-some of the most influential governmental and public organizations from more the 160 countries collectively decide on the most pressing and often controversial issues of conservation and sustainable development. About 100 documents expected to be adopted at this unique meeting, which then will become IUCN resolutions and recommendations requiring country council to take appropriate steps.
