At the University of Alicante, Spain, the practical placement of Central Asia career center staff took place from October 27 to November 6, 2015, within the TEMPUS UNIWORK project: “Strengthening Career Centres in Central Asia Higher Education Institutions to empower graduates in obtaining and creating quality employment”. BAFE head of external relations and career center Ludmila Maslova has participated in this practical placement.

Considering the strategy pursued by the University of Alicante in relation to employment and entrepreneurship for its graduates, as well as examining the joint action program of the municipalities of Alicante and San – Vicente del Raspeig (on the basis of which program for employment of graduates and young people is developed and implemented), and business sectors, after visiting a number of involved organizations in the employment, representatives of the career centers of universities from Central Asia, gained a complete understanding of how a strategy for employment and entrepreneurship is built in European higher education institutions, and got the opportunity to be informed about existing programs for the employment of students and graduates and programs for the development of entrepreneurship.

One of the key results of this internship was the opportunity for the staff of Career Centers to acquire practical skills in the area provided for students’ services, expanding their opportunities in the labor market and to explore joint cooperation programs with external stakeholders (companies, city administration, job centers and retraining population).
