Normative documents of ADAM University

The mission of ADAM University/BAFE – contribution to the society in the development of market institutions through the training of competent personnel in the fields of Finance, Economics, Business and conduction of applied scientific research.

BAFE was established in 1994 as a private non-profit (LLC) higher educational institution and governed by the Board of Founders. In 2016 reorganized into ADAM University.

It is a modern, dynamically developing higher educational institution, which is training specialists in the sphere of Economics and Business.

ADAM University is one of the first Universities in Central Asia, successfully held in 2005 the procedure of regional public institutional accreditation and received the gold quality mark of CAMEQ.

ADAM University is a pilot University of the Ministry of education and science of the KR on implementation of reforms in the higher education system. Since 2005, ADAM University have been implemented projects aimed at:

- Development of two cycle bachelor and master programs;

- Introduction of ECTS and the European Diploma Supplement;

- Implementation of competency approach on the basis of TUNING methodology;

- Development of career centers;

- Development of academic mobility of students and teachers;

- Building internal systems of quality assurance and accreditation of the University

- Development of PhD programs;

- Development of electronic learning (eLearning).

ADAM University has extensive partnerships with government agencies, employers, community organizations, and with universities of Europe, Asia and the USA.

ADAM University pays attention to the studies of foreign languages, in particular English, Chinese, and Korean.

In 2010 was signed the Great Charter of Universities in Bologna, which aims to expand the mutual exchange of information and documentation, the permanent implementation of joint projects, increasing mobility of students and teachers.

Educational programs are developed in close cooperation with the Moscow Academy of business and management, University of Northern Virginia (USA), University of TAMK (Finland), University of Telemark (Norway), Girne American University (North Cyprus).

At ADAM University, traditional training of students efficiently combined with distance learning, which is gaining popularity in the modern world. In our University the tools of eLearning used for over 5 years and our experience allows us to conclude that a student remotely becomes more independent, mobile and responsible. Analysis of surveys conducted among employers has also shown that used in learning tools like business simulations and case studies that mimic the activity of the enterprise in a virtual environment, allow the students to form critical thinking skills and risk management more efficiently than when using only traditional teaching methods.

The teaching stuff of ADAM University has extensive experience in the application of such tools of eLearning as:

-Electronic platform MOODLE;

-Business simulator “Simformer”;

-Development of eLearning courses in Adobe CC;

-Software for video conferencing “WebEx”.

ADAM University is one of the initiators and an active member of the Kyrgyz Association of Distance Education (KADE).

ADAM University is a regular and active participant in programs funded by the European Union: Tempus, Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus+.


Current projects:

  1. The project ERASMUS+ EurDiQ: the European dimension of qualifications for the tourism sector (2015-2018);
  2. The project ERASMUS+ LMPT: the Development of undergraduate and graduate programs on sustainable tourism in open education in Kyrgyzstan, China and Vietnam (2016-2019);
  3. Joint educational project “Sustainable tourism development: rural entrepreneurship and cultural heritage in Kyrgyzstan, Norway and Georgia” (2015-2018) with financial support from SIU (Centre for internationalization of education);

Implemented projects:

The TEMPUS UNIWORK project: Strengthening and development of Career Centres in Central Asia higher education institutions to empower graduates and the creation of quality jobs (2013-2015).

The QAMEL TEMPUS project: Implementation of quality management in eLearning system in universities of Central Asia (2013-2015).

The TEMPUS TuCAHEA project: Towards a Central Asian higher education area: tuning structures and building quality culture. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of higher education in Central Asia, by analogy with the European space of higher education (2012-2015).

Project in the field of educational cooperation between Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Norway. Sustainable tourism development, rural entrepreneurship and cultural heritage (2016-2019).

The TEMPUS project: Documentation for the Quality Assurance of Training programs DOQUP. The project aims at the establishment and implementation of the system online documentation for the DQAT in the countries-partners (CP), according to European Standards and Guidance on quality assurance. This objective will be achieved through the cooperation of the project partners, as well as involvement of local authorities (2011-2013).

Cooperation in the field of libraries of universities of Kyrgyzstan and Norway (2013-2014). The main goal of this project is to promote the quality and internationalization of education in Kyrgyzstan. The long-term goal is to create a common framework and better cooperation between libraries of four partner institutions.

Educational project in the field of tourism, innovation and sustainable development. Strengthening teaching methods in Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Norway (2011-2013).

Practical aspects of formation of financial and saving behavior of the population. Project goal: to evaluate the potential internal sources of investment real sector of Economy (2013).

The Erasmus Mundus TARGET II project. The aim of the project is to promote higher education cooperation between the EU and Central Asia (2011-2013).

The Erasmus Mundus MARCO XXI project. The aim of the project is the development of cooperation with third countries, promoting gender balance and improving the ability of students (2011-2013).

The Erasmus Mundus, TARGET project supported by the European Commission, the aim of which is development of academic mobility of students and teachers (2011-2013).

The Tempus project: Central Asian network quality assurance – CANQA (2009-2011);

The goals and objectives of the project are to develop methodological and regulatory framework, systems of internal and external quality assurance, the establishment and development of Centers for quality assurance and accreditation in each participating country of Central Asia, and the development of Central Asian Network on Quality Assurance and Accreditation (CANQA) on the basis of the data Centers (2008-2011).

A joint educational project on ecotourism supported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Norway, between the Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics and the University College of Telemark, Norway (2008-2011);

OSCE project: Improving the quality of higher education through increased capacity and involvement of student organizations in universities (2008);

The project EFCA and the Christensen Fund: Introduction of voluntary ecological certification for hotel and tourist enterprises (2007-2008);

The Tempus project: establishment of a National Bureau of the European system of accumulation and transfer of credits (2007);

The Tempus project: Establishment of centers on Bologna process and supporting Tuning teams in the Kyrgyz Republic (Bologna.KG-2) (2006 -2007);

The USAID project: development of the office of the Registrar in the conditions of transition of BAFE to the European system of accumulation and transfer of credits (2005 – 2006);

The EFCA project: Development of Career Center of BAFE (2005-2006);

The Project aims to promote stronger ties of business and of the University through the development of the Career Center, designed to achieve the following objectives: the focus of the University on the needs of business, enhancing employability of students, strengthening ties of the University with alumni.
